"It's meeting the man of my dreams and then meeting his beautiful wife"

Because Delon and the bird had a lot of chemistry...

Starting June 17th (aka the last day of school), expect a steady stream of reviews on this site. I feel guilty for writing up full-blown reviews at the moment since I still have so much school stuff to do. Stuff like, y'know, annihilating CollegeBoard in my mind.

I just finished watching Melville's incredible Le Samourai, starring the deliciously attractive Alain Delon. I'm just dying to review the film, but it's best if I put all my thoughts in order first. Just know that the film is incredible, I love it, and I want to re-watch it right now. Plus, Delon is gorgeous. So is his beautiful then-wife, Nathalie Delon, who is also in the movie (see subject of this post). My dad thinks Delon looks a little like James Dean, but I beg to differ. What do you folks think?

I'm also watching The Graduate in English right now, as a companion piece to Vonnegut's Slaughterhouse-Five and Hemingway's The Old Man and the Sea; they are all part of of our existentialism unit. I've seen that movie and I've always wanted to give it a proper review, mainly because I have so much stuff to say about it. I really can't wait to review that movie, and I say that with all the passion left in my tired little heart. All I can say is: I hate Benjamin Braddock.

Well, wasn't this pointless?

  2. Yeaahhh...I want to see more of Delon's movies, though. Not only is he gorgeous, but he's a great actor. I just love that scene in Le Samourai where he's talking to the blonde guy...and many other scenes as well.

And after watching this Dick Cavett/Delon interview on Youtube, I kind of want Delon's hair, circa 1970.

  3. why did i think that just because school gets out in the middle of may here in the desert - the heat, you know - it would be like that in cool calif.
delon does not look like james dean. i can't think of anyone off hand who looks like james dean.
    good luck!

  4. I obviously wish that school is not part of my life anymore. Sigh. I'm sick of taking tests and I'm sick of being at school, listening about other people's love lives and thinking about my own nonexistent one. It's getting old.

I think James Franco looks a bit like James Dean...sort of. He portrayed him in a TV movie a few years back and won a Golden Globe for it.

  5. I know the feeling. I hand in my final assignments tomorrow then I have three weeks of revision. Then I can finally stop neglecting my blog. Looking forward to three months of freedom before I start my 17th year of education

  6. i knew immediately that 'filmgeek' was a brit. i forget just what 'revisions' are, but they all do it.

only one more year, marcy, and then only four more after that, and only two or three more after that - wow - what fun!

did you ever see 'wild orchid' with mickey rourke. a bit of a james dean type, and, btw, one of the sexiest scenes you will ever see in a legit h'wood movie.

  7. @filmgeek: I know "revisions" have something to do with the GCSE process, haha. Mind enlightening us?

@Richard: I can't stand school at all right now! I just want to get out of high school, haha. It's the first step to many other things in life.

I haven't seen Wild Orchids. It seems sort of interesting.

  12. Love Alain Delon as an actor and love the films he did with Jean-Pierre Melville (probably my favorite director of all time).
